radio not working

i took my car in to get the air conditioner fixed then when i got it back the radio wouldnt work it only picks up a few stations and the rest are al static n a couple work sometimes but then get static. i took it back to where they installed it and they said they would have to send the cd player back to jvc. im wondering what is wrong with it before having to send it back and drive without no music beacuse if it can be fixed i dont want to ahve to send it back and wait please let me know what could be the problem. thank you
