Follow jpy's advice to fix your black screen sony trinitron.

I had the exact same problem with my sony trinitron. The picture would either go black after a while, or it wouldn't come on at all. The sound always was working, though. I followed jpy's advice, took the back off of the tv, slightly adjusted the focus knob clockwise, and everything works fine. Much thanks!!!
