Homered, green, blue ghosting around images My KP-51HW40 Sony has been terrific for almost 5 years. In the last few weeks, there's been intermittent 'ghosting' of red, blue and green around images--particularly numbers on the sat. guide, for example. The 'flash focus' fixes the problem but it re-occurs the next time the set is turned on. If the flash focus is not used, the problem goes away in about 10 minutes. I'm worried about a moe catastrophic problem. Suggestions?

As far as I know these tv's need to warm up when you first turn them on for the colors to be accurate. So you don't have to use the allignment botton, just wait for it to warm up and if the colors are Ok, then the TV is Ok. Looks like your convergence ICs may be going bad. Order and replace them. |
