Hello,
I have a DSC-S90. There is currently a problem with the lens--it refuses to retract and is stuck in a position about 3/4 of the full extended lens. The rest of the camera works perfectly fine; if I turn it on in the view picture mode, the LCD works perfectly and I can view all of the pictures on my memory card. However, if I turn the camera on in any of the picture or video taking modes, I get an 'Access' message and then a 'Turn power off and on' message after a minute or so. Finally, the shutter seems to work--it opens and closes as I turn the camera on and off. The only problem is with the lens itself, or perhaps the internal programming.
So far, I've tried taking the batteries out and replacing them with new ones, taking the memory stick out, putting a new one in, turning it on and off in every mode possible...
And I have also checked the Sony website, which helpfully tells me that my warranty is out of date and offers me a non-functional tutorial on how to reset my camera to factory settings.
So, what do you recommend? Is there anything I can do? How much would a repair on the lens cost, if it comes to that?
Thanks,
Acy
