Your model is not one in the range of models that were fitted with defective sensors. Various things can be responsible for your problem, but a faulty connection on a ribbon cable that links the image sensor with the video circuitry is the prime suspect, the cable running just under the camcorders top casing which obviously necessitates the case being opened to gain access.
