Trouble with my television

My tv was hit with some static electricity when my wife shut it off the other night. Now the power button does not work, the tv turns on by use of the menu, channel, or volume buttons, additionally can not use the remote to switch to the various applications to run DVDs, turn up the volume. Is this going to be a simple fix or a new tv?
