Cybershot DSC-W50 lens won't retract or open completely

The lens on my CyberShot DSC-W50 won't retract all the way or open all the way so I can't take pictures. It will allow me to view pictures in memory and yes, my battery is fully charged. (I picked it up by the lens...dumb, dumb, dumb...and it powered off at the same time. I heard a "click" and the lens looks a bit altered counter clockwise".) I have only had the camera for 3 weeks. Is there a way I can repair this myself?
