Have trouble when powering on my W5.

When I press power button, mechanism of lenses starts, but in moment when LCD display try to flash everything stops, and it wont work anymore. Some strange sound sometime comes from W5 when I try to power him on. Batteries are Sony Stamina NI-MH and they are fully charged. What to do? Thanks
