Re: JVC service or questions

Dan Loney Posted Jan 06, 2007, in response to:Stacy Sample

Hi Ms. Stacy Sample, JVC Service & Engineering, Houston, Texas: 2 years ago my JVC TV AV-36985 would not turn on. A service repair man replaced the power supply and a few small electronic pieces. Last year, the TV displayed a scrambled picture, and this same service repair man replaced some electronic pieces. He said he heard a little scratch or bump type sound emitting from the TV's speakers, but he could not identify the source of the sound. As soon as I turned on the TV, I heard the sound and then disabled/turned off the speakers', because I route the audio to my stereo anyway. That was no longer a problem. However, when I viewed the Bell ExpressVu interactive program guide, the left and right viewing window sides would move in and out, concave like, when I selected the next channel listing, and as well when I scrolled a page up or down. This was acceptable, then after 5 months, the TV would not turn on, again. Before I have a service repair man look at the TV, I'm debating whether to have it fixed or not. As this trouble could be an ongoing occurrence, and the TV weighs 150 lbs, too much hassle to bring it somewhere for service and return it home. Can you help me out? Thank you and have a good day, Dan Dan Loney 5 - 521 Carleton ST Cornwall ON K6H 4Y2 CANADA
