Condesation and tape deck not closing

I have a JVC Model # GR-D30U camcorder and when you try to close it, it stays closed for maybe 1 second before opening back up! It worked fine until we went on a cruise and now doesn't work! A few months later we went to try it and it closed but it wouldn't play or record. So we bought a cleaning casset, after that it worked. When we got home we tryed it and it went back to doing the same problem as before not closing!! HELP!! Thanks!
