Condensation and tape deck not closing

I have a JVC Model # GR-D30U camcorder and when you try to close the tape deck, it stays closed for maybe 1 second before opening back up! It worked fine until we went on a cruise and now doesn't work! We had tape deck issue and also is said condensation! A few months later we went to try it and the tape deck closed but it wouldn't play or record. So we bought a cleaning casset, after that it worked. When we got home we tryed it and it went back to doing the same problem as before not closing the tape deck!! HELP!! Thanks!
