Well on the basis of what you say about your technical ability the answer has to be No! as even without a person being an electronics expert they HAVE to be good at semi-precision soldering. You still haven't mentioned the model number of the TV in question, however if it is what I suspect then the total component costs would only be about £10.00($20.00) at the most, but of course its the labour charges thats really the killer unless you know someone with the ability to fit the necessary parts.
