To anyone that may be reading this thread as it has been reactivated, the lens cap problem on this model is 99.9% of the time caused by a defective image sensor having been unwittingly fitted at time of manufacture. This problem also applies to a very large number of other JVC models, and JVC has had a special "free" repair programme running for the last 30 months or so, however although this expired at the end of Dec 2007 feedback has indicated that provided you are the original purchaser of the device, and have a receipt to prove this fact, JVC "may" still offer the free repair. Further details can only be sent to a DIRECT e-mail address, as it contains web links which are blocked by Pechorins site. PS:- "ALWAYS" use "POST NEW MESSAGE" at the top of the page if making an enquiry, as posting it in this area appears as though its an out of date posting and is very unlikely to be seen by anyone that can assist. Hello, I have the same model of your camcorder. You might have the lens caps on.Check, it should say JVC on it with a string hanging from it.If not also if you have something blocking the screen it will say that.Little mistakes can turn into big problems. If that is not it.Return the receipt and camcorder back to the store you purchased it at, and try getting a new one. i have the same problem not sure how to get it to work Full info sent via direct e-mail including details on the procedure used to obtain the free (QUALIFIED) repair on this particular fault. |
