The component is the C926 (labeled on the bottom) capacitor near the center of the circuit board chassis. It is a large cylindrical capacitor just to the right of center as viewed from the rear. De-solder it out and replace it with a 1000uf 35v or 50v capacitor from Radio Shack. The cap. you buy from Radio Shack will be axial leads, while the cap. you replace will have radial leads. Don't let this bother you just bend the leads to fit the holes and it will work fine. Pay attention to the polarity marking on the circuit board and the capacitor. You need to have a little experience in how to solder leads on a circuit board. If you have neve done such work, find someone who has. It is not difficult but you don't want to fry the component or screw up the solder joints of other nearby components.
