Thanks for the reply. If I find out anything I'll let you know. I have a current-controllable/variable voltage DC power supply, so I may just try to empirically determine what kind of power this turntable requires. If it needs AC, I might be able to tell from the negative results of the experiment. Being able to limit the current to as little as a few milliAmperes should allow experimentation without problems.
