Must my camera go in for a service?

I have the JVC Digital Video camera model no. GR-DVL157E and for some reason it will not playback any cassette. What might be my problem? I have had it now for about 4 years and have never experienced this problem before. Also, it keeps giving the message that a cleaning tape must be used. Have done this now 5 times but still the message keeps coming up.
