Cannot fix C:13:01 error - nothing from the forum works...

Can someone help? I am getting the C:13:01 error using a Sony Memory Stick ProDuo 512MB on a DSC-W50 camera. The issue is, I can't format it. It keeps saying the card is write-protected, even though it isn't. There is no switch on the card to turn protection on and off. I am stuck - I can't take pictures anymore and can't find a way round this VERY annoying issue. The camera and card were only bought one month ago!
