Zoom Control JVC GR DX77U digital camcorder constantly tries to zoom in.

I have a JVC GR DX77U digital camcorder that I really like. Unfortunately, recently, my camcorder constantly tries to zoom in. The prevents me from using it in anything other than min zoom and in my hand. Do you have any suggestions? SN 119B1345
