JVC Camcorder just stopped working for no apparent reason.

I'm hoping you can help me troubleshoot this issue. We got this model (Model GR-D372U) camcorder in August, 2006 and it has worked fine until a few weeks ago. For no apparent reason, it doesn't work at all. No playback or recording. I was watching a video on it turned it off and then tried turning it back on and it looks like it gets power but the screen is blank, sort of greenish, the display sort of moves...
