Full info on problem sent by direct e-mail with details of the procedure used to obtain the "free" (qualified!) repair being offered by JVC on this particular fault.

    I have a GR-D30U JVC minidv. I have only used it a couple of times. The LCD screen works fine, but when you try to record something, it displays a black screen, with a message that says, "remove lens cap." I inserted a previously recorded tape, and it allowed me to view it just fine. However; if I try to video record something, it doesn't allow me to do anything, because of the message on the LCD screen. The view finder is also black. If you could assist me, or direct me to someone who could possible give me a solution, I'd greatly appreciate it.
