Hi, I have read in the forum about len's cap problem of JVC video cam. It seems like a known defect or frequent fault of this camera. I am also getting len's cap problem with my JVC video camera model#GR-D72U. I bought this about 2 years ago but I seldom use it(I have used it only 3x since I got it).
