JVC GR-D370AG laptop connection failure

Subhojit Saha Posted Dec 02, 2006

My JVC camera model GR-D370AG has a DV connector port to connect the camera to a PC and transfer video and image files. But even after following the instructions on the manual, the PC does not detect my camcorder... Pls assist with any ideas.

Well it seems on Win XP one can use Firewire IEEE1394 cable along with the Exsate DVCapture Software.

Although this is an old posting, any questions of this nature should really be accompanied by information on what software the PC is running on, Windows XP or Vista, and also if you have installed any JVC driver disc that is usually supplied with the camcorder, and finally what connection you are using into the PC, USB or firewire. As far as the PC not recognising the camcorder is connected, when everything is coupled up and switched on its sometimes only a case of switching the camcorder off, then on again, as this triggers the PC into knowing its there. The other aspect about this procedure is you must have some form of video capture software installed on the PC, that is unless you have installed the JVC driver which includes the capture facility.
