Horizontal lines when taking pictiures?

I have a MVC-CD500 and I baby it, never been dropped or anything. Just recently horizontal lines float on the LCD when trying to take pictures. If I wait for just the right time I can minimize/eliminate the lines and if I turn it off wait a while and try again, I can get lucky and have no lines when taking pictures, but it seems to come back eventually. Can you give me any idea what you think the problem is? Thanks
