blank screen says remove lens cap even when l have

l was wondering if you can help me. l have a jvc grd33ag and am having trouble with the screen. lt is telling me to remove the lens cap even though it is off. When looking in the veiw finder it is also black. ls there somewhere l can download another instruction manual?
