I have a JVC MX-J30 which will not play a tape in either the A or B slot. With the cover off i can see that the tape head comes up to touch the tape on the installed cassette, then reverses off again without ever starting the tape drive. I get a "No Tape" message if I press the Dubbing or Record buttons. It's as if it can not detect the presence of a tape cassette. I note there are some small contacts (2 sets) which close when the top of the cassette is in the correct position - could these be oxidised or is there something else I should investigate.
