My 2 year old JVC mini DV camcorder just took a dump on me.

I have the JVC digital video camera model# GR-D22U. The LCD monitor is black with some yellowish horizontal lines when it is turned on. It's like the lens cap is still on, but of course it's not. Also I can't see anything through the viewfinder. This, of course, makes recording impossible. What is strange is that playback gives a perfect screen, but recording doesn't. Thanks
