Help with Error 06 Message

My cd player has worked fine until one day when an error 06 message appeared on the screen. Ever since this has occurred the deck will not flip up and stay. It sounds like some kind of motor running and then it fails and decides to send the deck back down. If you can help me in any way it would be much appreciated. Thanks
