JVC GR-DVF10U camcorder problems with tape transport.

My JVC camcorder has a little age on it now but after twice repairing the "board" for about $70 each time it now refuses to transport the tape. It just hangs up after moving a short space and then gives an error code. Anyone know if this thing is worth repairing and what the problem might be? It cost $1,200 new and should be repairable one would think or is JVC not a good investment?
