the lcd screen works, however it wont show anything other than the menus.

the camera hasnt been used for a while, it use to work fine, but now for some reason it wont record no show the picture. although u can still hear the sound when u record, and play back footage already on the tape. is this a common problem? can it be sorted, or is it done in? thanks stu
