Lens Cap Problem

Hi I have a JVC Mod. # GR-D22U that worked fine since I realized that at screen shows lens cap all time without a lens cap in So my question is what exactly happens or is it somethingh break we reaaly treat this camera nicely and carefulyThanks for your help Fernando
