Screen keeps going on and off

Can any one help me on this? My Sony KP53HS10 TV screen keeps going in and out the sounds is fine.also the TV/Video keeps showing up on the screen and i have to hit the display off button. The stereo light is flashing 5 times in a cycle. Has any one had this problem before and know how to fix it? Thanks, John
