Locked in loop?

As I was deleting 2 or 3 bad shots in the video screen the camera screen went black. Ever since the Hd seems to be just searching back and forth without ending. Tried reboot and pressing all the buttons on boot up with no effect. I've removed battery, cut power etc. Finally let it run 30 min or so thinking it would clear but stays same, any ideas?
