format error sony cam

i have a sony DSC-S45 digital cam bought a magicgate 512 memoray stick pro duo put it int he camera get FORMAT ERROR.. can format it in the cam can put it in the card reader and open it up see whats all on it format it but once in the cam get format error on the lcd screen any help would be great thanks aloy
