Power specifictions for jvc gr-d275u

I bought a display item (jvc gr-d275u) that didn't come with the ac power cord. Can I use a universal adapter? What would be the specifictions (e.g., positive tip, 3.5 volts)? Also, does the USB cable charge the battery when connected?
