Need to fix it!!

Sharp Camcorder VL-E68OU
My camcorder has not worked for a few years now and it's driving me nuts!!! It turns on and loads the cassette properly, but when you turn it to VCR mode and try to watch your recordings it just plays static. Why is this? How can I fix this? Has anyone else experienced this? Is there some way I can fix it myself with out having to spend a whole bunch of money taking it to a repair shop? Please respond... Thanx!

Its a dirty video head,just like on a vcr.Buy some head cleaners,preferably chamois tipped,and a bottle of 91% or better rubbing alcohol.Very simple fix,just be very careful not to damage the small heads on the drum.

Hey Gloria ....same problem except , I actually can hear my recordings . I just cant see them. i just posted my problem and I'm waiting for a response.
