Wrong battery message when problem is elsewhere, for Sony DSC-s50 digital still camera.
I own two Sony DSC-s50 cameras, and one of them suddenly started giving the message "for infolithium battery only", and then shutting off. Actually it displays a date screen for about 4 seconds, then the battery message for about 4 seconds, then shuts off. Several correct Sony NP-FM50 batteries do the same thing. They are all good, and work fine in the other camera. The zoom feature and the LCD screen work for the few seconds the camera is on, but The menu button has no effect. Also, if in "play" mode, the camera displays "memory stick error", with a code of C:13:01 (unformatted or damaged memory stick). The power light comes on as it should for the few seconds the camera is on, but it does not come on when connected to the battery charger. Any ideas?
