How do I get this thing out of safemode so I can use it? It is brand new, but we misplaced the manuel that comes with it. We have not been able to use it.

I bought this about four months ago. It went into safemode about two weeks after we bought it and we have not been able to use it since. It keeps telling us to remove and replace the battery but when we do it goes back into safemode again.
