DR-MV5SU plays 2 movies then cannot

we just got our DR-MV5SU back (again) from the factory; new parts have been replaced, and it played great for two dvd's, and then next morning.. . nada! SXXXS wont take it back, since its been over a year, though its been in the factory for repairs most of that time!! I read that some DVDs may not play correctly because of where they are made? Is that allot of bull, or am I doomed with this player to not get to watch some DVD's? and stuck with Comcast on demand?
