COlor Convergance messed up

So I went to bed.. TV fine.. wake up , turn it on .. and my TV had a weird 3D effect. I did all I could to auto converge it and all nothing worked.. so, we delt with it, till the point where it became unbarable. So we had a shop come here and take the "convergance Box" out.. saying it all needs to be replaced for around 365$ Is this resonable? And what happend to cause my tv to act like this. We havnt had yet for even 3 years!
