JVC AV32850 has no sound

My TV has no volume. It has all the bars on the screen indicating it is all the way up but nothing. I checked the inside circuitboard and saw no notable damage and the wires are hooked up to the speakers. Is there a part that goes bad on these TV's or is there some setting on the menu I am over looking?
