Re: JVC service or questions

Paula Sandy Posted Sep 05, 2006, in response to:Stacy Sample

We have had a JVS VHS camcorder and it has worked great for years, Model GR-AX22OU, and receive an EO3 error message when attempting to record; then it shuts down after flashing "E03." Have taken the battery off and tried several tapes, but still no success. If you have any advice please help. Regards, Paula Sandy

You may have a mechanical problem with the tape basket inside the camcorder. Minimum repair for 1 hour labor is $75 + tax/shipping to JVC. You may want to see if a local service provider near you can look at it for less. The issue you face is that VHS models are very inexpensive these days. It may be your best bet to just get a new camcorder and not invest in the old one. Just do what you feel is in your best interest. My personal opinion is to buy new if a local shop cannot fix it for under $100.
