Re: JVC service or questions

William Posted Sep 02, 2006, in response to:Stacy Sample

Stacy: I have a GR - DVM50, the record/play selector wheel and press pad fell out (just like Tyler's did). can it be fixed? I can make it record but would like to return it to its normal operation. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes it can be replaced, but is it really worth it. The part is around $115 and probably 1.5 - 2 hours at $90 per hour (plus tax/shipping). You can get a new camcorder for around the same amt at Walmart or a great site called BuyDig.com. Your model is about 7 years old. It is up to you what you feel is best. IF you want it fixed, go to JVC.com for the nearest Factory Center or call 800-252-5722. FYI you will be required to send in an eval fee that will go toward repair. Be prepared to send about $100 with the camcorder.
