Trouble with my JVC XA-MP101 mp3!!!!

I have been able to play my JVC XA-MP101 mp3 player smoothly for about 6 months now and one day it just wouldn't start up. It would show the welcome page and then turn off every time. The hold button is not on and I have tried putting new batteries in but nothing worked. It might be acting up due to exposure with moisture but I don't even remember it getting wet? PLEASE HELP and tell me how I might fix it or get it repaired.
