Please help me!

Dear All of You, I have had this same problem since my warranty ran out on my JVC DV camcorder, GR D 72U. 17 months ago. When I turn it on to record or play, a code appears on the display screen "E06 Remove and reattach battery and Unit in safegaurd mode." I have tried to remove the battery and replace it and I have the head cleaned but cann't use it. Can you please tell me what causes this and how to rectify it. Thank so much for your help.
