CCD Image Sensor, faulty Lens Cap on problems, no picture

To everyone out there that has had the Lens Cap On message, when it is not, and the No picture and distortion issue with their JVC GR D90 camcorder... I have this issue too with my unit. Sadly, JVC has terrible customer service, and are unwilling to correct this problem, they are fully aware of, even though they are claiming they are going to fix this until October of 2007. Here are my recent experiences with JVC and their Service Center… After being told by JVC to ship my unit to the JVC Service Center to be fixed, I then got a phone call from a tech named Anthony, who left me a message that basically blamed the problems on something else. He then added that to fix this would cost close to $400.00 and I had to call him back within 72 hours to give permission to fix the camcorder. I called the next morning, and spoke to Anthony. I told him I did not agree with what he said on his message and to keep my camcorder there, while I would be contacting JVC corporate to talk to a manager. When I called Customer Care, and asked to speak to a manager, I was told someone from management would call me back. I am still waiting for a manager to return my call. Anthony, at the JVC Service Center, who I did in fact speak to and was very clear in what I was going to do, ignored what I told him, and then shipped my camera back to me, the same day we spoke, because it arrived at my home the next day, with a service letter claiming I did not reply to his phone call. JVC has still not replied to any of my phone calls. So, I have joined the many thousands of you out there who will NEVER, NEVER, EVER, buy another product by JVC. JVC knows there is a huge problem with this CCD image sensor, and Lens Cap Error message, because now there are a huge number of other models of JVC camcorders with this problem, that have been and are continuing to be reported all over the web. You are not alone. Patti
