When I used the power button on the front of the TV (AV-27530), because the remote will not work, all i get is a black screen and the volume indicator (set to zero).

When I used the power button on the front of the TV (AV-27530), because the remote will not work, all i get is a black screen and the volume indicator (set to zero). The menu button on the front has no effect. If I depress the volume or change buttons on the front of the TV the volume indicator goes up. When I release the volume button it reverts to zero. Any suggestions?
