wide picture screen

My 32 inch JVC I'Art TV is 2 yrs old. After Katrina, the picture has gotten much wider than my screen and the picture is half as crisp as it used to be. It doesn't seem to come from the cable provider and it happens with DVDs also. Is there an adjustment button for this problem? what could it be? what can I do? Thanks.
