Sony CCD-TRV67 HANDY CAM

I have a Sony ccd-trv 67 video camera. It has hardly been used and is about 4 to 5 years old. Literally used 6 times. Its been stored for a while and now when i plug it in to charge, it gets a full charge but it beeps the whole time.when i unplug it, it still beeps until i disconnect the battery from it. Can anyone please help? Is this something that sounds easily fixable and what it might be?Could it be that it is simply telling me to set the date or time or something more wrong with it?
