Error message - "Safeguard Mode, #3".

Does anyboday know how to clear this message? I inserted a Dynex mini DV head cleaning tape. It ran for 30 seconds, but when I ejected it, the tape had unraveled slightly. When I inserted a regular tape to check the playback / record status, I got a message that basically said, "Camera is in safeguard mode 3, eject tape and re-insert. I tried this several times and also powered down the camera for a while (as per the manual), but I cannot clear the message. JVC says that I have to have the camera serviced. Help!!!
