Tape will not load

I bought this camcorder on 12/12/05 and only used it 4 times. When I ejected the tape from the camcorder and try to load another tape into it, it will not retract the tape into the camcorder. I have been in touch with jvc and service centers and they say I'll have to pay for the labor but the parts will be under warranty. (The labor appears to cost more then the camera did.) The only problem is I firmly believe that this problem is a manufacture defect. The ribbon cable on the right side of the tape loader came loose in the middle and was cut by the loader door. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I can find a parts breakdown so I might be able to fix this myself and tell JVC to go pound sand?!?!?!? Thanks in advance
